Vintage Jeronimo Fuentes Blue Enamel Sterling Silver Snake Bracelet - Taxco Mexico TF-32 - Margot de Taxco School. This exceptional vintage Taxco bracelet was crafted by Jeronimo Fuentes (TF-32), a silversmith known for his work in the studio of Margot de Taxco, one of the most celebrated enamel artists in mid-century Mexico.
Fuentes collaborated with Margot and later produced his own designs that clearly show her influence in both technique and aesthetic - especially in the intricate enameled cloisonné scales and serpentine motifs seen here. The bracelet features a beautifully detailed coiled snake design in sterling silver, richly inlaid with shades of cobalt, turquoise, and black enamel. The articulated, hinged body gives the bracelet a lifelike, fluid motion, and the clasp is cleverly concealed in the serpent's head and tail. A safety chain provides added security. 925 / TF-32 / Mexico.Material: Sterling silver with kiln-fired enamel. Snake/serpent motif with hinged articulated links. Deep cobalt, turquoise, aqua, and black enamel.
Hinged clasp with safety chain. Vintage condition with light wear; minimal enamel loss, consistent with age - some possible enamel loss around the eyes, but it is symmetrical, so that is likely intentional, one link appears to have taken an impact in two spots, but the enamel loss is mostly superficial; clasp and hinge function well. 7 inches (fits most wrists comfortably). A striking and highly collectible example of the Margot de Taxco school, this bracelet exemplifies the refinement and artistry of the post-war Taxco silversmith tradition.
Pieces by Jeronimo Fuentes are sought after for their sculptural forms, rich enameling, and direct lineage to Margot's atelier.
