This fab 1930s Art Deco snake bracelet in a rare design depicts a coiled snake with a mesh body, a shiny silver tail, and an enameled silver head and neck. In classic Deco styling, the detailed head and neck, which is in one piece, is decorated in blue and red enamel and accented with marcasites. He has wonderful pointed teeth and a tiny forked tongue that slightly protrudes from his mouth. It seems the mesh portion of the snake is vermeil, as it has a pale gold appearance.
The back side is engraved in partial concentric circles, some with dots, and stamped STERLING 925. Condition: There are three indentations in the mesh. Please see all photos and feel free to ask for more. 1/8 of the diamond on the snake's head is missing red enamel. I believe that the short recessed area could be carefully filled in.Approximate measurements: Coil--1/4" wide, 18 1/4" long; because of the flexibility of the bracelet, it should fit any wrist size. If you need the item by a certain date, please be sure to let me know.
