Vintage sterling 925S enamel abstract bracelet Norway modernist Oystein Balle MC
For your consideration: (Recently found at an estate sale of former Harvard museum curator/college professors who during their lifetime were world wide travelers). Balle was known for his quality craftsmanship and innovative designs. Crafted in sterling silver, this magnificent bracelet showcases Balle's signature use of colorful vitreous vibrant enamels in an abstract design. The 6 sterling silver repousse panels are adorned with colorful vitreous enamels, including shades of white, rust red, lemon yellow, green, sky blue, and cobalt blue. I see the image of an abstract butterfly. I have found the larger 4 link bracelet design of Balle when doing research, but never a six link, so this is a rare find. The guilloche' colorful enamel is glossy, with no visible wear or damage.
From the appearance of this beauty, it has been lovingly cared for and tucked away for 60+ years. This bracelet was found with other stunning vintage Norwegian sterling silver jewelry from the estate sale as mentioned above. I have only used a soft silver jewelry cloth on the bracelet. There is age appropriate tarnish that I leave for you. Measurements: 7 1/4 length closed.
Back has age appropriate tarnish. Hallmarks: BALLE 925S Sterling Norway.
Weight: approximately 25.2 grams. The low price does not reflect the value of the jewelry. Slight signs of wear or tarnish are considered typical for authentic vintage piece, such as light surface scratches or patina. This type of normal wear attests to an item's age and adds to it's vintage charm and character.
