Phoenix (CL-46) World War II Sweetheart Bracelet Blue Enamel Letters and 2 USN Anchors. This rare sweetheart bracelet is all that remains of a wartime romance between a young girl and an unknown seaman. My Mother kept this bracelet her entire life - through a 60 year marriage, four children, and numerous moves. It was found tucked away in the recesses of her bureau drawer wrapped in a hankie.I doubt that my father ever saw it. The USS Phoenix was anchored at Battleship Row in Pearl Harbor the morning of 7 December 1941.
The Phoenix escaped the disaster unharmed and shortly thereafter was underway to join several destroyers in an impromptu task force searching, unsuccessfully, for the enemy aircraft carriers. She was decommissioned in 1946. CONDITION: The enamel is bright - not chipped or cracked. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog.
