Margo de Taxco Design Blue Enameled Snake, Serpant Bracelet

  
Replica of one of Margot de Taxcos (Margot Van Voorhies Carr) most recognizable designs from the early 1950s that earned her first place in the 1954 National Silver Fair, bracelet is made of enameled sterling silver representing a slithering snake coiling around ones wrist. There are thirteen 3-dimensional links that fit inside the next and attach to each other with sterling pins, with the head and tail at either end at made to twist around each other, and showing the snakes tongue in its mouth.

The enamel is light and dark blue and gives a snakeskin, scalelike appearance. 7 3/8 inside but loose enough to wear at the base of ones hand to show off the head and tail.

Clasp is tight and there is a safety chain. Enamel is in excellent condition with no damage. I bought this piece about 20 years ago when visiting Mexico. It is marked "TF-32, Sterling, Mexico".

Reasearch shows that after Margo closed her business and died in 1985, her former silversmiths continued to use her molds. _gsrx_vers_854 GS 7.0.18 (854).
